Tuesday, March 24th

The plot of land facing our neighbors has suffered neglect whilst the head of our household has been spending his days at the fortress. So today I expended my efforts towards ameliorating the overgrowth of vegetation. Alas, I have long been known to have a weak constitution concerning St. Augustine and its related cultivars; they have been known to give me a temporary pox as well as a miserable head cold in times past. To stave off such unpleasantries, I adorned myself in a chemise better suited to cool weather, with a mask and protective cover for my spectacles. I appeared to be attired to go out and face the plague, yet I remained on our own homestead and saw that the acreage was threshed. My precautions proved worthwhile, as presently I am not suffering from the offending allergens. I do hope the nearby inhabitants appreciate the gesture, as it was entirely for their benefit. The ladybugs and I are not vexed by an abundance of herb.

Yours,
Elysia Van Deusen

Sunday, March 22nd:

Our head of household stole away a few hours of Sabbath rest this morning. We used the reprieve to survey the lands surrounding our homestead. Evidence of spring abounds, and the children gallivanted around like kids. The inhabitants in these parts seem hospitable, though they keep their distance. Alas, near the noonday hour, my spouse returned to the fortress to resume his grueling labor of staving off the plague with plans and words. May these efforts yield their profit forthwith!

Saturday, March 21st:

Since cold, dark, Saint Stephen’s Day, I have regularly attempted to defeat the ill humors affecting the people of Hyrule. On Monday, after much thoughtful deliberation, my progeny took it upon themselves to relieve me of this task. They have since dispensed with many wild creatures, and I expect, will soon dispatch with all the malicious beasts. I am both proud of their bravery and quick wits, and embarrassed at my own shortcomings in this matter of Zelda, Breath of the Wild.

Thankfully, my ability to keep my young warriors heartily fed has not waned in this time of quarantine. And, so long as the males in my household are occupied, the rest of the homestead remains in tidy condition. We shall see how long the situation holds.

Yours,
Elysia Van Deusen
